We get a lot of concert guests at I Street, and the reason is simple: Capital One Arena is exactly one block from our front door. Next Tuesday, November 10, that block is going to be full of people who’ve been waiting all year for sombr’s You Are The Reason Tour.
If you haven’t seen him live, here’s what you’re in for. This is a full arena show, and it plays like one: big, slightly heartbroken guitar songs, a crowd that knows every word, and a lot of people singing along with their phones down for once. It’s a Tuesday night, which honestly makes it better. You get the arena energy without the weekend chaos on 7th Street afterwards.
The details: doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster, linked from the arena’s own page, so check there for what’s left rather than trusting random resale sites. The arena has a bag policy (it’s on their Arena Policies page), so travel light. That’s the nice thing about staying with us: leave everything in your smart-lock locker and walk over with just your phone and ID.
Getting there from the hostel: you walk. One block. No Metro, no rideshare surge pricing, no circling for parking. Our insider tip is about the way home, not the way there: when the lights come up, thousands of people head for Gallery Place-Chinatown station at once, and the escalators back up fast. You don’t have to deal with any of it. Stroll back, raid the fridge in our guest kitchen, and be in your capsule while everyone else is still in the Metro line. If friends are coming in from out of town, they can arrive on the Red, Green or Yellow Line at Gallery Place-Chinatown or the Green/Yellow at Mt Vernon Sq.
