John Summit Is Playing Halloween Night, One Block From Our Front Door

Capital One Arena lit up at night with crowds arriving for an event, Washington DC

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and the biggest party in our neighborhood isn’t at a bar. It’s at Capital One Arena, which sits one block from our front door. On Saturday, October 31, John Summit brings his CTRL ESCAPE arena tour to DC.

If you haven’t caught him yet: Summit is the Chicago-born house DJ and producer behind “Where You Are,” “Human” and “Go Back,” and these days he’s headlining arenas. His shows are loud, bright and built for dancing, and on Halloween you can bet half the floor will be in costume. Chromeo (doing a DJ set) and Mesto open the night.

The details: John Summit CTRL ESCAPE Arena Tour, Capital One Arena, 601 F St NW. Doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster from the arena’s event page; check there for what’s left.

Getting there: walk out of the hostel and you’re basically there. No Metro, no rideshare surge pricing, no hunting for parking on Halloween night. That also means you can get ready here, drop your bag in your locker, and stroll over at 6:45 instead of leaving an hour early. Our tip: eat before you go. Chinatown is all around us, and the food spots fill up fast once the arena crowd spills out at the end of the night.

And when it’s over and everyone else is fighting over an Uber on F Street, you’re one block from bed.
